The Baths, Pure Kakenagashi

♨️Taiyo no Yu (太陽の湯), renowned since the spring was first opened, flows straight from source to tub as Kakenagashi
🌌Hotei no Yu and Kannon no Yu, private open-air baths opened in 2023, pair hot water with starlight
🛁Add garden-facing Ebisu no Yu and there are five private baths in all, each yours alone

Private Open-Air Baths

🌠Each private open-air bath pairs a roomy tub with garden chairs for cooling off
🕒Available 15:00 to 22:00 and 6:00 to 10:00, in 50-minute sessions
👨‍👩‍👧The main bath, Taiyo no Yu, alternates between men and women from 22:00 to 10:00

Garden-View Japanese Rooms

🪟The third-floor garden rooms (8 to 10 mats) look out on the garden and mountains, with the river audible below. The most requested rooms in the house.
🛗Second-floor rooms share a level with the main bath and the dining room, so getting around is easy
🏔️Top-floor rooms on the fourth level take in the mountains of Minakami

Joshu's Seasonal Flavors

🥩The standard plan centers on Joshu beef (上州牛) sukiyaki
🐖Tender Joshu barley-fed pork served with eight kinds of hot vegetables
🍚Mornings bring a Japanese set meal with the okami's own miso soup and rolled omelet

All-Inclusive

🍶Free-flowing alcohol and soft drinks from 15:00 to 21:00, in the lounge and at meals
🎁A welcome service of local wagashi and more, from 15:00 to 17:00

Minakami Scenery

⛰️A ryokan in Yujuku Onsen, Minakami, within the Sarugakyo and Mikuni hot-spring district
🍃Surrounded by mountains through all four seasons, with the river always in earshot
🗓️Day-use bathing is also available during certain hours (11:00 to 15:00)

Getting Here

🚄About 20 minutes by Kan-etsu Kotsu bus (bound for Sarugakyo) from Jomo-Kogen Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen
🚌Get off at the Yujuku Onsen Kami stop and you are ten seconds from the door
🚗About 15 minutes on Route 17 from the Tsukiyono interchange on the Kan-etsu Expressway
