Milky Nigoriyu and Open-Air Baths

🏔️Soak in the large bath or open-air bath while taking in Zao's four seasons at 900 meters elevation
🥛The clear source water oxidizes on contact with air, forming 'yunohana' that turns the bath a milky white
🚿The tubs are drained and refilled almost daily, keeping the water perpetually fresh

Four Private Baths

2022-Renovated Wa-Modern Twin

🛏️A 36㎡ non-smoking wa-modern twin room renovated in 2022, with sunsets over the mountains adding to the mood
🛌The beds use France Bed's high-density spring mattresses, the same model adopted by the luxury cruise train Shiki-shima
🪟Fitted with original shoji screens of hand-woven washi paper containing hyacinth root, and Ryukyu tatami

Five Room Types

🌾The 10-mat Japanese-style room, distinguished by its rush tatami, opens onto sweeping views of Zao
🛏️For those who find futons on tatami uncomfortable, the 8-mat Japanese-Western room with twin beds is recommended
🏨A 41-room ryokan registered as a government-certified international tourist inn (Registration No. 1747)

Zao Beef Kaiseki

🥩Choose sukiyaki, shabu-shabu, or steak, each using 200g per person of Zao beef raised on the Zao highland pastures
🍲The standard course is a Yamagata-style tray of seasonal local dishes and teppan-grilled Zao beef ribs
🐑Distinctive options are also available, including Zao's famous fresh lamb Genghis Khan and cheese fondue

Dining and On-Site Facilities
