A Source-Fed Kakenagashi Bath Hidden in the Highlands

♨️Set at Nakanosawa Onsen, a 1,000-meter-high plateau between Mount Bandai and Mount Adatara
💧Strongly acidic sulfur water, pH 1.85, is piped 7km from the Numajiri source and enjoyed kakenagashi-style with no added water, heating, or circulation
🌿Over the 7km journey, the sulfur scent fades, leaving water with a silk-smooth feel

Open-Air Bath and Free Private Open-Air Baths

🌲In addition to one indoor bath and one open-air bath for each gender, there's a free private open-air bath with two ceramic tubs side by side
🕰️The large bath is open 3:00pm to 10:00am the next day, while the private bath is free and reserved by the hour at the front desk on the day
🛁The tubs are hinoki, and the floor and walls are hiba cypress, filling the bathhouse with the scent of wood

Clear and Milky White, Two Faces of the Same Spring

🤍Normally clear, the water turns milky white a few times a year, when yunohana forms at the source or the weather turns rough
