A palace built by global artisans

Completed in 1991, the building gathers materials and techniques from around the world: glazed roof tiles from the Forbidden City, English bricks, Italian Roman mosaics and a French gold-leaf ceiling. Its signature is the entrance hall, where 24 columns support a dome ceiling covered in 22.5-karat gold leaf.

All-suite, all ocean view

Every room is a suite facing Tanabe Bay, from the roughly 60–70㎡ Southern Suite to Presidential Spa Suites with their own open-air natural hot spring bath. Guests in the Presidential Spa Suites and Presidential Maisonette Jacuzzi can use the top-floor Imperial Lounge free of charge.

Two hot spring spas

Choose between the 2F Royal Spa, a living-room-style spa with a fireplace, and the 1F Yukyu no Mori with a koyamaki-wood indoor bath, open-air bath and barrel sauna; men's and women's sides swap daily. The spring water is a 64.2°C sodium chloride-bicarbonate spring.

King's Buffet

The oceanfront main dining room serves a buffet overlooking Tanabe Bay; at dinner the live kitchen cooks dishes such as Japanese beef steak in front of you. At breakfast, omelets and thick-cut French toast are made to order.
