Heritage meets green hills

Architect Sou Fujimoto reimagined a traditional inn with 300 years of history. The Heritage Tower keeps the original building's exposed-concrete atrium, while the new Green Tower, inspired by the grassy banks of the old Tone River, is covered in greenery.

Lighting Pipes in the atrium

Leandro Erlich's installation 'Lighting Pipes' twists through the Heritage Tower atrium, and works by artists such as Lawrence Weiner, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Ryan Gander are displayed around the hotel.

Rooms by designers

Jasper Morrison, Michele De Lucchi, Leandro Erlich and Sou Fujimoto each designed a signature room. None of the four has a TV, so you can fully immerse yourself in the space.

Private saunas

The Green Tower houses three private saunas used by one group at a time: a Finnish sauna with self-service löyly and a cold plunge, a guests-only Bedroom Sauna with a double-bed-sized bench, and an herbal mist sauna. Book at least one day ahead.
