A sub-temple of Daisen-ji

Kansho-in is one of the ten sub-temples still standing within Daisen-ji. It enshrines Fudo Myoo and has welcomed lodgers as a shukubo for more than 400 years.

Mountain shojin cuisine

Buddhist vegetarian meals made without meat, fish, eggs, dairy or animal-based stock, built around wild mountain vegetables from Mt. Daisen. Deluxe, Standard and Economy courses are offered.

Zazen and sutra copying

Try zazen meditation in the main hall, copying the Heart Sutra (shakyo) or tracing a Buddhist image (shabutsu). Reservations required; 1,000 yen each.

Via JR Yonago Station (also from Yonago Airport via Yonago Station) to the Daisen-ji area at the foot of Mt. Daisen; parking available
