HIGHLIGHTS

What makes it special

Twelve cliff-top villas, each with its own open-air onsen bath

Private onsen villas

All 12 rooms are detached villas on a 20 m sea cliff, each with a free-flowing open-air hot spring bath. The bath's roof and front wall open and close electrically, so you can soak with a sea view even in the rain.

Tsubaki Onsen waters

Alkaline simple sulfur water of pH 9.6 springs up next door and flows straight into each villa's bath, known for its silky, skin-softening feel.

Getting there: About 20 min by taxi from JR Shirahama Station or Nanki-Shirahama Airport (free pickup on request)
Best for: Couples celebrating a special occasion in a private ocean-view onsen villa
