A Shianbashi hostel that turns a former karaoke building into a 'tree hollow'

The white sound staircase

The central staircase of an eight-storey karaoke building, closed for about ten years, was painted white and reopened as a guest terrace. Four speakers play shifting natural soundscapes by sound artist Yutaka Sakamoto.

Cave-like Deluxe Double

The second-floor Deluxe Double has an arched ceiling and specially coated walls meant to feel like resting inside a tree hollow (uro). It is a 13 m² private room with a double bed and washbasin; showers and toilets are shared.

8th-floor city-view lounge

A single square window in the top-floor lounge frames the Nagasaki cityscape. Guests can use the shared microwave and electric kettle.

Cafe FAAH and Bar zzzzz

The ground floor houses Cafe FAAH by day and Bar zzzzz in the evening (the bar opens on selected dates).

4-5 min walk from Shianbashi tram stop; about 6 min by taxi from JR Nagasaki Station
