Hotel Lucent Takamiya

A Zao Onsen resort right by the ropeway, with free-flowing hot spring baths

Ropeway at the door

The Zao Chuo Ropeway is right in front of the hotel, and the Chumori slope is a one-minute walk. It is a handy base for summer trekking and winter skiing.

100% free-flowing spring

Every bath uses 100% free-flowing water from the source, a strongly acidic sulfur spring. Soak in the milky water of the Hagakure-no-yu open-air bath or the rock-built Komorebi-no-yu indoor bath.

Two private baths

Choose between Ikoi, an indoor bath scented with wood, and Nagomi, a stone open-air bath. Both are booked on the day of use.

Mountain-view Saison Court

Every window in the Saison Court wing looks out on the Zao mountains, with 10-tatami Japanese rooms and maisonette suites.

Getting there

About 5 minutes on foot from Zao Onsen Bus Terminal (free pickup if you call on arrival)

Best for

Families and groups who want skiing or trekking plus sulfur hot springs
