A spring-fed ryokan in the Amori River gorge

Seven private springs

The grounds hold seven hot spring sources, one for each bath. The water is never diluted; a heat exchanger cools it without exposing it to air, so it reaches the tub fresh.

Riverside open-air baths

Besides the Amoriden main bath, there is a wooden open-air bath overlooking the stream, a riverside bath sheltered by a large muku tree, and a footbath facing the river.

Ishikura stone storehouse

An early-Showa stone rice warehouse was taken apart and rebuilt stone by stone. It now houses four rooms, each with a free-flowing open-air hot spring bath, plus a restaurant.

Architect-designed rooms

Four main-building rooms renovated in 2023 were designed by architect Kiyoshi Sey Takeyama with plaster walls by craftsman Naoki Kusumi. Each has two double beds, an open-air bath and a shower room with steam sauna.

About 15 min by taxi or 23 min by local bus from Kagoshima Airport; 15 min by taxi from JR Hayato Station
