A small roof balcony on the floor above looks out over the sky and rooftops of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Architect-designed 50㎡

Designed by Keiichi Yamamoto Architect Office, the 50㎡ space uses soft walls and gentle lighting that shift through the day. The living/bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor.

Run by a craft gallery

Operated by the toutou craft gallery, the room features furniture from a sashimono woodworking studio, tableware by contemporary makers and Hokuroku Sosui toiletries. Check-in and luggage storage are at the gallery next door.

Bread and fruit breakfast

A light breakfast of bread, jam, butter and seasonal fruit is provided (not included on last-minute plans).

About 15 minutes' walk from the south exit of JR Kurashiki Station, in a lane just south of the Ohara Museum of Art
