Free-flowing hot spring

The inn's own spring, Chiyo-no-Yu, flows straight from the source without recirculation. It is lower in salt than most Katsuura springs, and its color shifts with the season, weather and temperature.

Step out of the front desk in your yukata and board the ferry at the pier right outside; about five minutes later you reach sister property Hotel Urashima, whose natural cave baths Bokido and Genbudo guests can use free of charge.

Wakayama kaiseki dinner

Dinner kaiseki features Katsuura tuna along with Kumano beef, spiny lobster and abalone. Meals are served in the dining area rather than in guest rooms.

Kamameshi and tuna rice

Breakfast brings rice cooked in an individual iron pot for each guest. The recommended dish is raw-egg rice topped with fresh local tuna and bonito flakes.
