Yokohama Hostel Village Hayashi Kaikan

A private-room hostel reviving old Yokohama lodging houses

Community-minded hostel

Started in 2005 by converting vacant budget lodging houses in Kotobuki-cho, the hostel aims to bring new visitors and life to the neighborhood.

Artist-designed rooms

Stay in the Creators' Room, decorated by a Yokohama artist on an underwater theme, the forest-inspired Little Forest designer room, or the mural-covered Painter Room.

Every room is private

Compact 3-4 tatami private rooms come with a TV, fridge and air conditioning; showers, toilets and kitchen are shared. There is no elevator, so staff carry your luggage.

Social front office

The front office where you check in doubles as a meeting space for guests and locals, with a cafe and bar serving coffee and beer.
