A 1923 sukiya residence

Built in 1923 by Kyoto sukiya carpenter Matsunosuke Shimojima, this is the former home of the Seki family of entrepreneurs, closely tied to Isuien Garden, now carefully restored.

Two-story private house

One group has the whole 123㎡ house: living room, kitchen and dining on the ground floor, a king-bed bedroom and a bathroom overlooking a small courtyard garden upstairs.

Japanese modern design and art

Furniture and lighting by Kunio Maekawa, Isamu Kenmochi and Isamu Noguchi sit alongside works by Jonathan Monk and Takashi Homma.

Seasonal Nara cuisine

The garden-view restaurant serves course menus built on Nara ingredients. Stays are room-only, with breakfast, or with breakfast and dinner.
