Kashikojima Grand Hotel

A seafood inn on Ago Bay where trains glide past over the water

Seafood straight from the port

The inn holds bidding rights at the local fishing port, so the proprietress buys spiny lobster, abalone, Matoya oysters and other seasonal catch directly, and the head chef turns it into multi-course meals.

Sea-side rooms with train views

From the sea-side rooms you can watch Kintetsu trains, including the Shimakaze sightseeing express, roll slowly across the water near Kashikojima Station. A favorite with rail fans and families with kids.

Three-tier large bath

A spacious bath split into hot, medium and lukewarm tiers looks out on the sunset sky over the sea. It swaps with a smaller bath between evening and morning so you can try both; the water is not hot-spring water.

Kids' room by the sea

Next to the sea-view lounge is a large kids' room laid with soft cushions where little ones can play safely.
