A Western-style ryokan in Ikaho Onsen serving French-style kaiseki

French-style kaiseki

Continuing a family history of Western cuisine in Ikaho dating to the Taisho and Showa eras, Pinon serves creative French-style kaiseki you can eat with chopsticks, at its restaurant Yumemitei.

Two springs, free private baths

Enjoy both Ikaho springs: the iron-rich brown Kogane-no-yu and the clear Shirogane-no-yu. Four private baths are free to use when available, and guests may also use the baths at the main Hotel Matsumotoro for free.

Getting there: From JR Shibukawa Station, Kan-etsu Kotsu bus about 25 min to Miharashi-shita, then a 3-min walk
Best for: Couples and solo travelers who want hot springs with French cuisine
