The hotel opened in 1976 as Saga's official guesthouse for the prefecture's first National Sports Festival. The building was designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa.

Saga-sourced breakfast buffet

The breakfast buffet at Restaurant Lotus features Saga eggs, Hinohikari rice, Saga nori and the local fish-mince tempura. Plain omelets are made to order.

Four restaurants

On site are the Western restaurant Lotus, the Japanese restaurant Kusunoki, the Chinese restaurant Taikanen and Green Breeze, a moat-side tea and cocktail lounge.
