A small hotel of eight rooms personally designed by its owners, a Kyoto-based architect and designer couple. Each room is finished differently, with karakami paper, handmade furniture and antiques.

Rooftop with shrine views

The rooftop terrace looks out to the slopes of Mount Higashiyama to the east, the great torii of Heian Shrine to the north and Mount Hiei in the distance.

Open-air bath and tea salon

Open-air baths overlook the Kyoto landscape. Check-in takes place in a tatami tea-room salon, with seasonal Japanese sweets and green tea.

Kyoto-vegetable breakfast

The original breakfast features Kyoto-grown seasonal vegetables and free-range eggs from Ohara Yamada Farm.
