HIGHLIGHTS

What makes it special

A village of design-led cottages beside a ski area in the mountains of Asahi, Yamagata

New design cottages

Newly built and renovated cottages each have their own design, with a kitchen and air conditioning in every unit. Some, like Koten Kido no Mado, even have an in-room sauna.

Ski area next door

The adjoining snow park has two slopes: the beginner Yu-Yu slope and the beginner-to-intermediate Fantasy slope. In winter, the Daichi no Uta cottage has direct access to the slopes.

Getting there: About 40 min by car from central Yamagata via Route 287, or 30 min from Nishikawa IC on the Yamagata Expressway (free parking)
Best for: Families and groups who want skiing or BBQ with a self-catering cottage
