🦉Ten rooms, and a golden spring hidden among them

Gunma, Ikaho Onsen · Kounkan

1

Ten Rooms, and Only Ten

• 🏯A quiet retreat with just ten rooms, the annex of Tsukagoshiya Shichibee
• ♨️Every room has both a hinoki indoor tub and an open-air bath of its own
• 🎨Each room dressed in a different classical motif — Shochikubai, Misu, Ogi

2

The Rare Golden Spring

• ✨Kogane no Yu, the golden water only eight places in Ikaho can draw
• 🌡️From the Sogo-yu source: calcium-sodium sulfate-bicarbonate-chloride water at 41.6°C
• 💧5,000 liters a minute keeps every tub generously full

3

Owl, the Bath That Watches Over You

• 🦉Owl, a symmetrical bathhouse whose plan resolves into an owl's face from above
• 🛁A hinoki-scented lattice corridor leads you to the yudono
• 🧺Geta lockers and towels wait in each room, so you can go empty-handed

4

Open-Air Baths and Shoin Alcoves

• 🪟A shoin study alcove in each room brings the seasons indoors
• 📐Rooms run from 50 to 115㎡; Kinkaku and Ginkaku add a dining room and twin bedroom to the tatami room
• 🖌️Painted fusuma, kumiko screens, lacquered washstands — craft in every corner

5

Kaiseki of Season and Vessel

• 🍲Authentic Japanese kaiseki attentive to season, flavor and the vessel it arrives in
• 🌸Seasonal courses following spring, summer, autumn and winter
• 🍶Fine local sake and small dishes round out the table

6

Spa Treatment in Your Room

• 💆Traditional Japanese massage, given on the futon in your own room
• 🕰️Relaxation programs including a 40-minute course, bookable same day
• 🌿Esthetic treatments by advance reservation to work out the travel
