Getting there
- 🚄From Tokyo take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Takasaki (about 55 min), the Joetsu Line to Shibukawa (about 25 min), then a Kan-etsu Kotsu bus to Miharashi-shita (about 20 min) and walk about 10 min.
- 🚌The JR highway bus Joshu Yumeguri from Shinjuku reaches Ikaho Onsen in about 2 h 37 min; after 14:30 the ryokan can sometimes pick up from the bus stop – ask ahead.
- 🚗About 15 min from Shibukawa-Ikaho IC, with 160 free parking spaces. Shuttles within Ikaho run 9:00–10:30 and 15:30–17:30 on request at the front desk.
Two hot springs, extensive gardens and rooms from detached suites to compact doubles are the draws. There are stairs to the detached rooms and dining rooms, and menus can't be adjusted for allergies, so check in advance.
