Property Description The popular Akayu-onsen has 900 years of history. This traditional Japanese inn is situated in the center of Akayu hot-springs resort and was refurbished in 2005. Featuring a large ''Roman-buro'' bath, two open-air baths and a new chartered bath with the relaxing scent of Japanese cypress, guests can fully unwind at Akayu-onsen. Our delicious Japanese cuisine is based on local dishes, and is cooked with seasonal ingredients. You can also relax and enjoy your meal in the comfort of your own guest room. Breakfast is served in our large hall. All-you-can-eat, freshly made mochi ( rice cakes ) as well as rice and rice porridge are available. We also provide popular Yamagata speciality meals to order, such as Yonezawa beef and Hirata Farm Sangen pork. Hotel is pet-friendly ( small dogs allowed ). In the surrounding area, guests can enjoy the landscape through the changing seasons, with beautiful Japanese cherry blossom in spring, fresh, green leaves in summer, bright red and orange foliage in autumn, and snowscapes in winter.
