Property Description This hot spring has long history since 2nd year of Bunsei era ( 1819, Edo period ). Situated inside the large garden of Bandai-Asahi National Park, Takanosukan provides individual Japanese-style vacation homes which are separated from each other. 8 houses of all different sizes and styles are available. We boast our own 100% natural hot spring which flows directly to the bath inside each house, as well as an open-air bath from the source ( we do not artificially heat or add extra water ). Guests can enjoy meals in their own rooms. We serve our original Kaiseki cuisine cooked with locally grown ingredients and fresh seafood caught in the Japan sea. ( JR Yonesaka Line ) / By train: [ Coming from Yonezawa and Niigata ] 1 hr from Niigata, 1 hr 30 min from Yonezawa by Benibana Rapid-Transit Train on Yonesaka Line [ Coming from Tokyo ] 3 hr on Shinkansen Bullet Train Line and Yonesaka line. Transfer at Niigata station [ Coming from Osaka ] 7 hr on Hokuetsu Line, Shinetsu Line and Yonesaka Line. From Osaka, ride on Limited Express Train ''thunderbird'' and transfer to Limited Express Train ''Hokuetsu'' at Kanazawa station. Then transfer at Niigata station and head toward Echigo-Shimoseki stn. [ Coming from Akita ] 3 hr 20 min to Echigo-Shimoseki stn.. Ride on Limited Express Train ''Inaho'' and transfer at Sakamachi stn. / By Car: 70 km from Yasuda I.C., 30 km from Nakajo I.C., 70 km from Niigata, 15 km from Sakamachi, 4.5 km from Echigo-Shimoseki, 20 km from Oguni, 70 km from Yonezawa. 1 hr 30 min from Niigata, Yonezawa. 3 hr 30 min from Akita, Sendai. 5 hr 30 min from Tokyo, 8 hr from Osaka / Please be aware that public vehicles can not drive over suspension bridge.
